Horses, dogs, country life - I love them all and they are my favorite subjects to photograph. So please think of me if you are looking for photos of yourself, family and pets. My style is candid and informal; I'll offer general suggestions about what to do but you won't be put into strange poses and asked to stand in one place. I move around a lot and I like to try different things, and if you have ideas I'd love to hear them.

A bit about me...

Prior to my life in Lancaster County, PA I was a city-girl; born and raised in downtown Philadelphia and then living in Manhattan for eight years working for ABC News. But growing up my summers were spent on my grandparents' farm and in the Endless Mountains of PA. For two summers during college I worked in Yosemite National Park. In all these places I fostered and renewed my love affair with animals and the natural world.

I have always loved horses, it's in my DNA. My grandparents, father and uncle all foxhunted and bred thoroughbreds on their farm in Lehigh County, PA. My father competed in the hunter and jumper ring in places such as Devon (where he was twice Best Child Rider), the Pennsylvania National Horse Show, the Olympic Trials and more.

As for me, I have Sullivan, a now-retired 23 year old paint/qh with whom I had boatloads of fun: eventing, paperchases, hunter trials, etc. For riding opportunities I currently rely on my wonderful circle of friends!

In addition to Sullivan we have Tinsel, Pip and Jagr - 3 jack russells who are in charge of the family entertainment and an english setter who is my husband's devoted hunting partner. We foster for Mid Atlantic Jack Rescue so let me know if you are looking for your next best friend.

I have been involved with horses ever since I can remember. My passion for the sport is very intense, and is clearly visible to those who know me. Most recently, I have begun purchasing young horses ranging in age from six months to three years old. They begin their career showing in hunter breeding and then performance classes. My hope is that they will ultimately be "my ride" in the A/O hunter divisions. Initially, I purchased Zarrbuck, a handsome buckskin then yearling colt, in the fall of 2005 who went on to win in hunter breeding until he was sold. Since that time, my horses Gold Tycoon, Blonde Ambition, West Hampton, and Belcort have been very successful showing on the line. All my horses have placed at major breeding shows including Devon, Upperville, Warrenton, and the IHF finals. By Design Farm's horses won the PA Hunter Breeders Yearling Futurity Overall Championship three years in a row... 2007, 2008, and 2009. I realize that "this is where it all begins, and so many of us tend to forget that someone, somewhere, bred and raised the superstars of yesterday and today. I would like to see more people involved at the breeding level. I believe that owning, raising and showing the young ones, is a great way to promote breeding in North America". My ultimate goal is to have horses that combine ability and appeal ideally suited for today's amateur... namely me! I wanted a pony so badly I hatched a plan to keep one behind the sliding closet door of my bedroom. Sadly, my parents nixed the idea but it did then dawn on them that this was a problem that was not going to go away. It never did and at some point a real pony did appear behind a real stall door and thus the logistics of cleaning my room never entered the equation.

I started shooting photographs while in college and that has never gone away either. I am blessed and gratified that I am able to combine both.
